activate of account fails with 500-Error #1817

I have just created an account. Unfortunately, I get a server error 500 (internal server error) when I click on an activation link.
Fortunately, the login worked anyway.

Since the menu still says "Requires activation", I have requested a link again.
Unfortunately again with error 500.
What can I do?

Did you try changing your email before activating the account? It might have to do with having a non all lowercase email (although this should generally not be a problem).

Ok, thanks for the quick response.
And it is fascinating.
I generated another email alias and was able to complete the activation.
Then I defined this alias as primary and deleted the old email address. Then I was able to add the previous (old) email address again and this time I made it all lower case. Now the activation also worked here, so I could make it the primary address again.

Conclusion:
Problem solved. Thanks for the good idea. I would not have thought of that.
