CEHG Programs

Main content start

Modeling and Theory in Population Biology

The Society for Modeling and Theory in Population Biology was founded in 2023, with its first in-person conference in 2024. This program focuses on advancing the field of mathematical population biology, with an emphasis on building a strong community of researchers in the field.

The Luigi Luca Cavalli-Sforza Lecture

The Cavalli-Sforza lecture is named in memory of Luigi Luca Cavalli-Sforza (1922-2018). Starting from 2025, it is the keynote lecture of the CEHG Symposium.

Conservation Genomics (PCG)

Hosted by CEHG, the PCG aims to develop technology and resources to provide immediate and direct assistance to conservationists in the field. PCG scientists believe that the data we help generate will also be incredibly valuable for the generation and testing of evolutionary hypotheses in diverse and wild populations.

Evolgenome Seminars

In the Evolgenome seminar series, speakers from both inside and outside of Stanford University present their work related to Center topics.

Fellowships and Awards

The Center provides funding to graduate students and postdoctoral scholars pursuing research projects in the fields of computational, evolutionary, and human genomics.

Bay Area Population Genomics (BAPG) Conferences

CEHG helps to host annual in-person conferences that draw attendees from throughout the Bay Area whose work intersects with population genomics. Held at various institutions in San Francisco, the East Bay, and the Peninsula, these free conferences give researchers an opportunity to connect face-to-face with nearby neighbors in their field.

Annual Symposia

CEHG hosts a yearly symposium in Paul Brest Hall on Stanford campus. Starting in 2013, these day-long events attract upwards of 175 attendees and draw speakers from the Bay Area and beyond.
