Mods, we have a much better system now. We've got an awesome technical support team, with IcyLiquid and Toddo, who are also admin now. This new IC is all about customization, the feedback we're given can actually be implemented in a far more timely manner now.

The posters are already introducing themselves to our new admin, but this thread is for mods to get acquainted, and to make any suggestions to take either your forum, or the entire board, further. All questions are welcome.

And Welcome Back.

Good to be back. Just a heads up for Mods, apparently we have banning powers now and are not limited to just one section of the forum to mod. Please dont abuse. Im not sure who are all the mods are anymore. Having everyone check in would help.
i have a few questions ... im assuming these would be directed at JAY because icy and todd O are from and will handle the vanilla side of things

1. whats gonna be the consensus on banning actual posters?

2. what steps should we take on bots/spam (just ban the account or "flag" the account to prevent the ip from registering again??)

3. definitely need to know the mod and admin line up (i guess i could make a role call thread?). on the last platform, they had a button that took you to a list of "forum leaders" i dont think thats a good idea tho unless its only visible to mods/admins.

4. last but not least, im just gonna put it out there. any poster who was affiliated with that bullshit hacking the board etc cant come to ill pix. LOL im laughin but im serious tho. i know jay and greg etc have the final say on this, but this is how im handling it unless told otherwise. i understand some posters were just cheerleading and trolling etc., thats just how the board has always been, but im talking about posters who were known to hack, posters who used mod accounts (and even regular accounts) that were given to them by the hackers and things of that nature. really any instance of those posters should get clapped on site imo.

5. oh yeah i almost forgot. i see greg put the smack down on the nudity LOL.... does this mean no uncut thread in ill pix??? it should be cool if thats the only thread where we have newds :)

Sinking makes the discussion not get bumped when people post in it. A good use for this is if people are being idiots in a thread and you just want it to go away peacefully.
First of all - I'd like to welcome Toddo, IcyLiquid, and their assistance to the forums. It definitely seems like you guys have the right attitude for dealing with these posters, first and foremost.

Also, the "React" feature.... how exactly does that work? And where does the feedback go for us to see? Or is it not to notify us but just for people to view via profile?

Everything otherwise, looks good so far. There are some things missed and some to get used to but we'll see once the "newness" wears off. Kind of impressed how the forums bounced back and came with something new/improved to quickly.

Frivolous banning WON'T be tolerated...Mods have the power to ban NOW, but if we get negative feedback about mods abusing their banning privileges, they will be removed...

I'm still learning the ins and outs of spam...any mod can "Flag" a spam post, in the lower left hand...Iunno if yall'll need to ban the spambots or not, I've tested it by flagging and banning, still seeing what's up...

A mod roll call's not all that important at this point, the admin can see who all are mods and that's what's needed. With that being said, I'm aware that some folks were given special abilities prior to the upgrade, and I'm addressing them...once the mods of rooms have been set, I'm sure that ALL mods will be visible like before.

If you're a mod, and a poster's giving u problems, u have discretion about them entering your room. But that needs to be cleared with me first. I'm NOT allowing mods to bully posters...I know there are some aggravating folks out there who're just here to push folks' buttons, but there also needs to be a balance.

The nudity thing is a topic we're still working on. Ill Pix may or may not be a public forum, and a subforum may or may not be added...We're still working out the details. @UPTOWN CONNEX, u can expect more on this subject later...

For now, just let posters know that nudity's not tolerated, in pics or avis, and is a bannable offense.

I'm not sure if there's a "merge threads" function...yet. I think the functionality can be added, but IcyLiquid or Toddo can answer that.

@IcyLiquid @Toddo some forum changes I haven't been able to figure out how to do yet:

R&B & Alternatives should NOT have the Strictly Business subforum.

For The Grown & Sexy SHOULD have both Strictly Business and The Weight Room (which is currently missing) as subforums.

Waiting To Exhale should NOT have the Animania subforum.

From The Cheap Seats should NOT have the Animania subforum.

Just as a note about flagging. If 5 people flag a post as spam then it gets put into the spam queue. The other flag options will get put into the moderation queue, but won't get removed until they get 10 votes.

When a moderator flags something their vote counts as 5 so they remove spam automatically.

We also have automated spam control which I haven't turned on yet and I'd like your feedback on this. It seems that the spam filter does a "pretty good" job, but also flags non-spam as spam and then moderators have to go through this too. You can verify a member as a non-spammer so that their posts won't get checked. I'd like to turn this feature on to give it a try, but I understand that it may piss off some members to see their posts not go up right away.

With regards to banning and whatnot we've got some features on the road-map that will hopefully help with this including temporary bans and other punishments. I also want to help get the mods all the information they need to do their jobs so I'm watching things around this forum to see what kind of features I can help with.

I agree with this. Something like u need 150 post to start a thread.
Yeah...I'm making new mods as well, folks who had to wait on our last platform...

Imma make a mod check-in thread after all, so folks'll know who's who.
