FWIW, #7 would conflict with this, and httpx doesn't support custom JSON libraries (yet): encode/httpx#717
I'm obviously biased but I think async support is more important in the grand scheme of things, especially for a library that mostly does I/O – I completely see the point of this PR though.

JSON conversion should be done by the underlying
requestslibrary which should choose appropriate library for JSON conversion (currently it seems to be eitherjsonorsimplejson).
