Cultural landscapes need specialists

"Pathways to Cultural Landscapes" is a partnership of public and private institutions which care for the cultural landscapes of their regions across Europe in a qualified and professional way through scientific research, communication and sustainable management. The creation of a common forum for discussion and co-operation is funded by the programme Culture 2000 of the European Union.

The partners are all professionals in landscape management. In a relatively new field of work, they carry out projects using a range of inventive and scientific methods from

A (archaeological excavations) to Z (Zonal management)

The coordination office of the European project "Pathways to Cultural Landscapes" manages the project: it looks after the interests of the partners, enables international cooperation between the partners and the twelve national projects, promotes networking and communicates the concept of cultural landscapes to a broad public. Dissemination of information, lobbying decision-makers, and raising the profile of cultural landscapes in society, the economy and politics are therefore the main tasks of the office.
