A Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) Jump-Start and a CAP Implementation Workshop will be held 22-24 September 2015, in Rome, Italy. These events will be hosted by the Fire Corps Academy of Italy, Istituto Superiore Antincendi (ISA). Persons interested in emergency alerting are welcome: managers, technical staff, media, etc., including governments, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and commercial organizations.

The seventh international Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) Workshop will be held 17-18 June 2014, in Sri Lanka. Implementers of CAP and
associated organizations are scheduled to come together for the workshop to discuss common issues and how best to expand adoption of the CAP standard. The use of CAP in Tsunami Early Warning Systems will highlighted. The CAP Workshop is part of the Indian Ocean Tsunami Xth

We are pleased to announce the results of the recent election for the Emergency Interoperability (EI) Member Section Steering Committee openings.

Jeff Waters of U.S. Department of Defense, Rex Brooks and Rob Torchon were elected to the EI Member Section Steering Committee. They will begin their two year term during the next Steering Committee meeting on 14 June 2013 with continuing Steering Committee members William Kalin, Donald McGarry, Tom Ferrentino, and Elysa Jones.

Three seats on the OASIS Emergency Interoperability (EI) Member Section (MS) Steering Committee are open for nominations. All EI MS participants are invited to nominate qualified candidates and/or serve on the Steering Committee.

Since sufficient candidates have not been identified by the nominations closing date; therefore the nomination period will be extended by two weeks until 29 April 2013.
