At the Tendo City museum, they held the explanation of the works of Mr.Yumeji TAKEHISA. Yumeji TAKEHISA (One's real name: Shigejirou) is the painter. He was active in Meiji and Taisho Period(19C and 20C) as painter of autograph, a cover, a postcard, etc. In this exhibition, they display 325 works in total with the cooperation of the possession Family in Tokyo. An exhibition is held until May 16(Sun.)
The recent warm weather made cherry blossoms full. Many cherry trees are full blooming when I went to watch trees after noon though they didn't bloom in the morning. Thought it is full at the groung level, the trees on Mt.Maizuru which is the beauty spot of the cherry blossoms in Tendo is still the bud. The best time to see is at the event "Ningen Shogi"(Human Japanese chess Game) at the end of this week.
They hold the establishment meeting of sightseeing promotion conference in Tendo for Yamagata Shinkansen in Tendo municipal office. It is organized in 4 groups, the Tendo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tendo municipal office, the Tendo City tourist promotion society and the Tendo hot spring cooperative. Yamagata Shinkasen is opened to Shinjyo station in the north of Yamagata Prefecture this December. They decided to hold an opening festival before or after the opening day of the Yamagata Shinkansen.
Most of meeting about tourism is organized by these 4 groups. But I think it is necessary to adopt the opinion of the young such as a high school students, working women, etc.
Over 1,360,000 people went to the "Yupia", the Tendo Mogamigawa hot spring which opened 2 years ago. It means that about 2,000 people per a day go there. "Yupia, the Tendo Mogamigawa hot spring" was opened on April 17(Thu.) in 1997. We can bathe by 200yen per 1 person, and moreover they prepare a shampoo and a body shampoo as well. Reputation spreads out freely, people in Sendai city of Miyagi Prefecture every weekend.
Cherry blossoms began to bloom in Tsuruoka City, faced the Sea of Japan. Shonai district where faces the Sea of Japan, it is the earliest to bloom cherry blossoms in Yamagata prefectrue. It seems to bloom a little earlier than expectation because the weather is warm these several days. The flowering expectation in Yamagata City is about April 13. If the warm weather like this several days lasts, the cherry blossoms in Tendo may be in full bloom at the end of this week.
