Jack McAuliffe
("Napoleon of the Ring")

BORN March 24 1866; Cork, Ireland
DIED November 5 1937; Forest Hills, New York
HEIGHT 5-6
WEIGHT 112-141 lbs
RACE White; Irish-American
MANAGERS Billy Madden (Some sources name Arthur Lumley as manager, backer)
McAuliffe fought out of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York and was one of the best lightweights ever; He was one of only nine men to retire unbeaten over his entire career; The others were Young Mitchell, Jimmy Barry, Rocky Marciano, Laszlo Papp, Terry Marsh, Ji Won Kim, Ricardo Lopez and Sven Ottke

Jack
was a wonderful two-handed fighter who depended upon straight blows; A wicked, hard-driven left jab and a left-right combination were his best punches; He was also "cat-quick" on his feet

In his early ratings, Nat Fleischer ranked McAuliffe as the #5 All-Time Lightweight; Jack was inducted into the Ring Boxing Hall of Fame in 1954 and the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1995
