Bass Strait Aquatic Club
(BSAC) Website

During early 2007, I became aware of, and eventually joined the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC UK). I was intending to join the Melbourne BSAC branch, but was approached to assist in forming a new BSAC branch based on the Mornington Peninsula. Thus the Bass Strait Aquatic Club (BSAC branch # 2396) was formed, having its inaugural club meeting and dive day on 21st July 2007. And of course, I built a website for the club, with work commencing in late June 2007.

BSAC Website Design Philosophy

Being a community website, the plan was to build something very similar to the VSAG website I'd build for another diving club late in 2006. So I downloaded and installed the latest version of the Dragonfly CMS community portal solution and started work.

BSAC Website Construction

Jaguar PC was chosen to host the website.

The installation and configuration of Dragonfly went smoothly. Then it was time to install and configure some addition modules, and enhancement.

BSAC Website Results

The Bass Strait Aquatic Club website went live in June 2007.

I am certainly delighted with the results achieved by using Dragonfly. Better still, I think the BSAC members, plus those who have taken on administration and moderator roles, are going to be very happy too.
