Negotiations by the Tallaganda Shire Council to have
the Mojiga Sawmill kept in operation have failed and the
company is to be wound up.
The shire clerk, Mr \V.

of the creditors of the mill
would be held on July 26
to finalise financial mat

Mr Marshall said that, al
though the last hope had
gone of seeing the mill re

were continuing to sccure
softwood plantings at
Monga.
Negotiations were con
ducted by the Member for
Monaro, Mr Steve Mauger,

behalf of the Tallanganda
Shire Council, with the
Forestry Commission.
However, Mr Mauger, Mr
A. Fraser (Member for
Eden-Monaro) and the For
estry Commission all insisted
that the mill will be sold
and will operate again.
But Mr Marshall believes
that if milling operations
are continued tnev will have
only a limited life.

Mr Hulme in a letter to]
the Member for Eden
Monaro, Mr A. Fraser, said
he wanted a public poll of
subscribers to decide what
action should be taken.
Mr Fraser said the name
Murrimba was liable to be
confuscd with other ex
changes with similar-sound
ing names.
The poll will suggest
Paddys River as the alter
native name.
Mr Fraser said Mur
rimba was the parish name

Mr Peter Osborne, of
Marulan, suggested the re
