The IBM GlassEngine enables deep navigation of the music of Philip Glass. Personal interests, associations, and impulses guide the listener through an expanding selection of over sixty Glass works.

http://www.philipglass.com/glassengine/ (Requires Java)

Once the GlassEngine launches, you will be presented with a series of horizontal bars, each with many little notches. Each notch or strike represents one of Philip Glass's works, arranged from across each horizontal bar by that bar's context -- the top bar represents time, with each work spaced throughout the years, while other bars represent tempo, density, joy, sadness, velocity, etc. As you slide a bar to select a work, all the other bars slide to select the same work within their respective dimension. Once a work is selected some meta-information is presented (name, year, comment, etc) and a decently long sample of the work begins to play.

This is really cool. Be sure to read the FAQ below the fold, as it points out some extra functionality in the interface such as being able to choke in one bar to winnow out unwanted works (eg. slide the minimum marker for velocity to filter out slow pieces, leaving only faster pieces on display within all the other bars).

Did I mention this is really cool?
