Hi! Dennis,
I must admit that the rx of 847 on HF is really way far from my 920 but you
have to put in mind that it was built mainly for sattelite use. In my
opinion the HF Band in this rig is just a bonus.
Works great with satt though.

I 'm looking to replace my ICOM IC-706 MKII G with a rig that is not so
menu-driven and have been considering the Yaseu 847.
Is it worth the price? How easy is it to operate? I would mainly use it for
20 meters through 10 meters and maybe 40.
