[LOGic] Com port number issue

Thanks Rich:
I'm looking into reassigning a few of the not-often-used com ports. Com 1 is
a hardware-reserved serial cable for firmware upgrades to the K3 (you can't
use virtual ports through another device to do this). Com's 2-7 are virtual
ports assigned to the microHAM MK2 interface for 2 radios and control and
Winkey lines. Com 8 is a KAM Plus (Winlink), 9 is a Rigblaster for APRS use.
Com 10 WAS used for a single OR-2800 rotator and its controller. It is now
used for configuration of a band decoder (not often used). Com 11 is a
Spirit-2 TNC and Com 12 is a FT-847. Com's 13-15 are actually unused
hardware serial ports (a SIIG 4 port card). Com's 16-18, when used, are for
a K2 through a separate older Microham interface.
I could reassign the unused 13-15 ports way high and also use com 10. The
ports needed would be the Green Heron virtual ports which I could give any
number.
I'll try this and see how that works. :)

Do you have more than 16 serial (com) ports?? That would be a lot of serial
ports! If you don't have that many, you may be able to assign a smaller
number to the ports that you have that are showing up higher than 16.....

Subject: [LOGic] Com port number issue
Hi All:

I have added several rotator controllers and each has a Com port number >16.
When I try to assign the com port of one of the rotators, I am met with no
number higher than 16. Is this just a limitation of the program or am I
supposed to see any com port available ?

If it is a limitation of the program, can it be made not to be ? Are there
other alternatives ? Stand-alone programs like LP-Rotor have a Com 9 limit.
