[LOGic] New Version

Hi, Jennifer-
I hope you are right as it is the best program around in many respects but
could stand some modernization. I particularly like being able to hear
spots while doing other things, and I am not aware of any other program
which does that these days, though there were a few a number of years back.
Dennis has had irons in many different fires and may just not be able to
afford to spend a lot of time on a small market product when most of his
income comes from more commercially oriented ventures. One person told me
maybe a year ago that Dennis was at least considering selling the rights to
Logic to someone else. Who knows if that is the case or if the report was
just hot air. But I know the person who passed that on had good insight
into the situation. But there have also been reports for a couple of years
now that a new version was imminent--but no new version or announcement of
one has appeared. That doesn't mean there won't be one-and it probably
doesn't mean that. But it is a concern, at least to me, because of the
unusually long time since the last release. Windows 7 is due in October.
Maybe Dennis is at work to release a new version compatible with that
program. I know at least one developer of another logging program who
pulled the plug at XP, saying the tools for development of fully compatible
Vista versions of his program were just too expensive to buy given the fact
that his product was free. You might be able to make it work with Vista,
but you were on your own. I imagine the Windows 7 tools are very expensive,
too.
