[Logic] LOGic 7 / Hamscope & PTT

Hi all.
Just thought I would chime in here. Mind you that no expert resides at this
qth...hihi.
If you are using the terminal withing Logic to read hamscope data, and you
are going to transmit using macros from within Logic, then you should set
the PTT from within Logic, I think using the RTS line. Do not set a COM
port from within Hamscope too. If you do and you use the same COM port,
there will be a conflict as the port is already "open" and in use by Logic.
If you intend to use the macros and windows provided for within Hamscope,
then set your PTT from there and not in Logic.
I often use hamscope for casual digi modes and use it's many available
macros and just let it log the entries into Logic. But then I am using two
monitors, one with Hamscope running and the other with Logic running.
If this doesn't help anyone...sorry for taking up the bandwidth.

Your right Mel,
It seems to me that the COM port setting in Hamscope would be None, and the
PTT control would be set to Logger (but I'm only guessing). After messing
around I did discover that I didn't have the PTT set to anything in LOGic,
and that brings my next problem. While trying to get LOGic to key the
rigblaster, when I attempt to set it (PTT to serial port) to com 1, I get
the following error in LOGic (without hamscope launched);
ERROR 1925 "Unknown member KEYOBJ has occurred" in program
LOGICAPP.OPEN_VOICE_PTT_PORT, Line 54
After I click Continue, this error follows:
ERROR 1734 "Property KEYOBJ is not found" in program
LOGICAPP.OPEN_VOICE_PTT_PORT, Line 55
I Continue again, ignoring this as well and for giggles I click on the
"test" button for PTT keying, and it keys the rigblaster, but Hamscope never
keys. I continued changing the parameters every which way to Sunday in both
LOGic and Hamscope and only got Hamscope to key when it directly keys PTT.
Ever seen the errors I'm getting when trying to set serial PTT keying in
LOGic ?
Brad

OK Brad... That works... Sort of!!!
But the way I see it you are NOT using Logic to do the PTT....
What I notice when set up this way is if I open the CQ keyer form, Hamscope
won't work... Ie Hamscope only works if the port is NOT open by Logic which
seems to indicate to me that all you are doing is keying the PTT directly
from Hamscope.
Dennis, could you clarify how this is supposed to work please... It seems to
me that the PTT/CW keying link from Hamscope to Logic 7 is not working.
