You need to add .001uf / 50v ceramic disc bypass capacitors between the audio
input and the case (ground) and the audio output and case of the amplifier
board in the base unit. Also I would add one between the DC power line input
and ground. These amplifiers are notorious for generating feedback when there's
any RF floating around in the shack.
I'd also recommend that you check your SWR into your antenna. Typically when
this condition occurs it is an indication of high SWR causing the rig case to
be 'RF hot'.
