Hello Jurgen,
I had a TR9500 that went the same way. It seems that the CPU is in a continual reset cycle. This could be due to a Lambda Diode issue with dry joints or along the side of the CPU board there are 3 caps from memory 470uF / 10v these had dried out in mine and the ESR was quite high. I changed these out and all is OK. The CPU board from 9130 and 9500 are very similar but with different suffixes on the CPU. Beware that these rigs were built using the old phonolic board with pretty bad though hole plating and I found that the solder had not wetted through to the other side of the board due componets preseed hard on the board. I swapped the component orientation so that solder would wet throgh, mainly the resistors.
Cheers,
Simon

Subject: [Kenwood] TR9130
I picked up a used TR9130 2 M all mode rig. There is no book with it to look for information so I hope that someone on the list can give me an idea of any possible problem.
When I powered it up the display was flashing 6.000 pushing the PTT gives a solid 6.00 reading and about a 6 on the meter into a dummy load.
The rig was not used for a long time and I thought that the 9volt NiCad needs charging but after having it on over night it is still the same.
Everything else seems to be operational(squelch, rf gain etc)well not everything because it's not working and turning the dial will not change the display. Is there an other hidden Li battery?
Any help will be much appreciated.
TIA Jurgen N9RD/4
