Peter,
YES! You are correct -- with the OLDER Buckmaster CD's it WAS OK -- BUT,
The NEWER versions also have the coordinates in the records -- so, in this
case .. BUMMER again for the newer Buckmaster CD's ...
It would appear that the NEWER versions of Hamcall and all versions of RAC
are going to be the ones that will NOT work properly.

Joe,I have a Buckmaster disc from about a year ago and I have the discrepancy (one shows 315 degrees, the other 270.4 degrees).

Subject: [dxbase] Joe wa6axe - need help pse -- HamCall (Buckmaster) CD In follow-up to my last -- for which I did rcve a reply from Dennis K6DS (tnx!) --
we now know that the RAC CDROM lookups will not work only because the records
on that CDROM (RAC) contain the coordinates ... and, we NOW KNOW that the QRZ
CDROM lookups are ALL OK -- YES!! ALL OK -- because they DO NOT contain any
coordinates information ...
So - now there is ONLY one more remaining unknown -- and, I sure don't have a warm
feeling about the popularity of the Buckmaster (HAMCALL) CDROM ...
If any DXbase user has a HAMCALL CDROM (Buckmaster) -- and they can do the AH0PT / AH0D
test (as shown below) -- this will finish up all requests fro additional info and we WILL THEN
know what is the status for all 3 of the CDROM Callbooks ...
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with the Hamcall cdrom ...

Subject: [dxbase] Joe wa6axe - need help pse -- QRZ CDROM
We know that the RAC CDROM lookup routine - when it find a callsign listed in the
RAC CDROM database - returns the longitude in a manner that DXbase can not use
properly ..
BUT - what I am hoping to find out with your help -- is what about the QRZ CDROM
lookups ... and, I am not talking in this case about the QRZ.COM (on-line) lookups -
If there is a DXbase user who has a QRZ CD and IS using the interface to the QRZ CD
for lookups -- could you pse:
(1) Make a dummy entry for the callsign of AH0PT (Alfa Hotel ZERO Papa Tango)
-- once you press the TAB key -- look immediately to the SUMMARY WINDOW and
mark down on a piece of paper the SHORT PATH Bearing and Distance -- if you can
pse make a screen-capture of what the full dxbase window looks like NOW .. then - delete
(esc key) this ah0pt qso ...
(2) Make a dummy entry for the callsign of AH0D (Alfa Hotel ZERO Delta)
-- once you press the TAB key -- agn look at the Summary window and
again mark down the SHORT PATH Bearing and DIstance .. if you can
pse make a screen-capture of what the full dxbase window looks like NOW
If someone can help me out with this info - pse send me directly your reply - MNI TNX!!!!!
