[Dxbase] Prefix for South Sudan - now that they have become a member of the ITU

Just FYI -- I noticed that on the 5th of Oct 2011 -- the ITU website showed that
they welcomed South Sudan as the 193rd member State. The website showed that
the ITU had a FACEBOOK account and I went there to post a question to the ITU
about the issuing of a new Radio Prefix for South Sudan... Here is their reply :

We are currently updating the
 database of radio regulations related to South Sudan, 
and the 
allocation of the radio call sign is among the many complex issues that 
have 
to be dealt with and re-organized. The revisions, which are now 
nearing finalization, 
will have to be 
agreed by the governments of Sudan and South Sudan, a process that 
could
 be decided at the next World Radiocommunication Conference 
(January-February 2012, Geneva).

So, it would appear that maybe next year we might see a prefix allocated to
South Sudan.
