I asked on the rtty reflector, because, if the USB>Serial works for RTTY, it usually works for everything.
The Belkin I used was a F5U103.
and one of the other RTTY guys replied with the following about the Edgeport
I use one of these:
Edgeport 8. Available at the below link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Inside-Out-Edgeport-8-USB-to-8-port-Serial-Converter_W0QQitemZ250316293534QQihZ015QQcategoryZ11180QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
It works just great for rig control (Icom 756 Pro III), FSK and rotor control.
Good luck, hope this helps.
But with Vista...neither may work.

Thank you Fire Brick and Wes for your kind responses.
It looks as though it will be possible to run 2005 on Vista with a little care. DXbase 2005 is fine for all my needs and apart from getting an up to date prefix mapping data base in a new version, there is nothing new I need. It would be super if one of Joe's programmes worked on DXbase 2005 as well.
Getting a bit too old now to mess about with new things and as far as possible I will stay with what I know.
Again my thanks,
73, John G3HTA
