[Dxbase] FT-1000 MP interface nightmare

Hi Robert (and Joe and all)
I found the problem on a PURE fluke. As I mentioned this wasn't
strictly a DX Base problem. The radio would do this regardless of
which logger was connected. I have N1MM and DX Base, plus I was
trying some others that were on the hard drive as well, with
identical results. I figured it was an FT-1000 MP error, and I was
about to blow away the menu settings and try it from scratch. But I
had a hunch.
Since this was ONLY happening when the radio was set by software, and
the only software in common with all loggers, with Router (used with
my Microkeyer). On a whim, I removed the front-panel mic connector
and plugged in the stock mic. Everything worked like a champ. Plugged
the MK back in, problem re-asserted itself.
Turns out there's a setting in Router to set digital sub-bands on a
per-band basis. Since I'm not a digimode user at all I flushed that
setting for 40 and all is back to normal.
Thanks to all who responded, and I'm going to post my findings to the
MicroKeyer group just in case anybody else is having fits with this.
Cheers,
Peter,
W2IRT
