It won't work for me either.
My first question is: "Can anyone else connect to the node, using any telnet program?"
I used the Windows Accessories, HyperTerminal and was able to connect to W4NJA
So we know the system is working.
I used a normal port of 23 in the HyperTerminal log in protocol.
I also entered the IP into ARUser and was able to connect to W4NJA.
So....I'm betting that the firewall in the Cisco is blocking access to DXBase.
Or the Windows software?
Also possible, most routers have a section called something like 'Applications & Games' or
'Special Programs'.
Check to see if you can tell that section to allow admittance to Telnet Programs
Obviously it allowed HyperTerminal and ARUser but the Router's internal Firewall may not
recognize DXBase as a permitted program.

Ok sports fans. We at W4NJA (Paducah, Ky.) have just updated our node from
a T1 to a 3mb X 3mb fiber link to the ISP. The old address was
216.135.37.195 and no port addresses or anything else. The new address is
207.162.164.148 on the new faster link using a Cisco 800 or 850 router (I
can not remember the exact model number). The node connects to AB5K with no
problem and works like it should.
Telnet into 207.162.164.148 and you get the normal sign on screen. I
changed the Host file in my Dxbase 2007 to the correct IP address like I
always have and of course selected it under options like I always have and
it will not connect to the Node. Bruce KS4V who uses Dxbase 2006 did the
same thing with the same result as I. He also has Win-Eqf and it works fine
into the new address.
I then went to the 2007 directory and looked at the Hosts file and made sure
the entry was there. Any ideas?
