You're right Ken.
Many letters are lost in the process of receiving, sorting and delivery. I don't know why exactly
but I think it is a conbinación of neglect and crime. I know that many cards are stolen their values
(IRC or $) and never reached their destination, or come open.
Talking to an old postman, he taught me how they realized if a letter had u,ドル you can believe it?
I think if they suspect a letter can have something valuable, they can open it without remorse, then
if there really is some value, Lucky! if not, to trash! The recipient will never know what happened
to the letter!
I have only 50% return on my shipments to DX, the other 50% I do not know what happened, even OQSL!.
Some were probably stolen in the post office. And the Argentine mail is not cheap!
I'm seriously thinking for a manager ...
Tips:
- Choose who have managers outside Argentina.
- Choose who will not require IRC or $ (like me) This decreases the possibility of loss
-Hams that are not associated with any radio club recive no qsl via bureau. There are many.
- If you have to send IRC or $ make sure they are well hidden inside the envelope and go unnoticed
in
the handling.
- If you send your QSL to an individual, let her know that you are sending a QSL if you have the
e-mail. This will not help in the delivery but in this way may claim the post office with valid and
accurate data. Many claims require to improve service.
- Send registered mail if possible.
Another problem is the Bureau. This works very slowly. (actually works?) I have had interviews with
bureau managers and they say the buerau is working fine, I do not know, I send hundreds of cards
every year and
only get 30 or 40 once a year or every two years only if I call them repeatedly asking for my cards.
In my local radio club we offered to help sort and send the cards, but never got response.... that
if a real black hole!
I'm sure there are other countries with problems in the mail and in the bureau. How fix the problem?
Any help?
