In the 1950s there were two or three HV stations. The first one I
worked was HV2VO at the Vatican Observatory (not actually in the
Vatican, but I believe it counted for that). Nearly 50 years later I
met the operator, Father Edmund, while having lunch with some ham
friends in Tucson, AZ (he was N7FUV at the time and is now KM5XH.)
