I've learned a lot here about how to QSL after a trip - I've never
done the "big" DXpedition, but we get a thousand cards after
some of our trips.
I've never thought about preferential treatment to the guys who
send a buck or three .... or multiple IRCs .... or email pleas.
First the logs get uploaded to LOTW and eQSL. After 30 days
we just count the envelopes times 1.73 and round up to the
next 500 .... and that's how many cards we order. About a
month later we dump the envelopes out and use BV Label Mgmt
to print on the cards, stuff them in envelopes, redeem the IRCs,
stamp them and take about 100 every other day to the little post
office down the road. I suppose if it was a big post office we
could take 200 every other day!
And then 8 or 15 months later do the bureau stack, sort them by
country and mail them out via sea mail.
Of course we (AC8W and me) don't solicitate donations .... but
if anyone would like to ride along and make a few QSOs and carry
an amp or a beam - that's the best donation of all!
