As the "last guy" in question, I take umbrage at what you said. It wasn't a
complaint, it was a statement. No more, no less. This turnaround is longer
than usual (my experience is within 10 weeks 85-90% of my direct requests
are answered), but nothing to "gripe" about.
I will start to get concerned when nothing's heard back from a somewhat
rare entity after 6 months or so--and only if it's for an all-time "new
one." 9A isn't rare, I have them confirmed on 5 other bands so frankly 5
months was more or less irrelevant to me.
It may be of use to someone who does, in fact, need 9A for a new one and
sent a card to that club station. They can see that despite it being longer
than average, you can expect a card from them.
On the other hand, I AM griping about UK8GK -- over a year now and
counting--for an all-time new one, despite three requests in total (to both
his address and his manager's). Ditto for ER4DX.
