HNY! group,
Do ant really require this much angst?
Come listen to my story 'bout a Ham named Phil:
On Dec 3 2020, a friend was helping me get my ant farm into Jan-Contest
shape.
As we worked on feedlines, a roar arose as my upper-roof chimney failed.
As it came crashing-down, it took-out my 2nd story deck, which deck then
followed gravity, crashing onto my lower-roof. Fortunately, myself and
Tom were positioned at the extreme rear of the deck, abutting the house,
which still is extremely stable.
Thank the RF I screaned TOM!!!! in lieu MY ANT! which included a
brand-new Hex Beam. Tom sustained a nasty rope burn on his neck. If he
had been more towared the "front" of the deck...
I'd like to add, in the spirit of this list's name, I did extensive
preliminary testing of my Hex. It was fabulous, viz., I hit Europe
simultaneously with South America and the Carribbean with a north/south
orientation [FT8]. I thought it was our new Solar Cycle. Using my 2-trap
dipole — still up & radiating — as a "control", it performed equally with
the Hex, and still does. Im switching to a Yagi or LPDA.
