[Antennas] static question

Vertically polarized antennas tend to pick up more human-made noise that do
horizontally polarized antennas. Full wave loops (closed) seem to pick up
even less noise and may exhibit some gain on received signals over those on
verticals and 1/2 wave dipoles.
What type of receiving antenna(s) are you using? What are the conditions
surrounding your station? ...urban, suburban, rural, commercial activity,
etc. Is the noise always 24/7 or does it go away at times?
Best regards,
