[Antennas] RE: tuning antennas

Hi Mark,
A "good" SWR doesn't mean all is well.
A line with a lot of loss will show a low SWR, (not that this is the case
in your antenna).
A quarter-wave antenna usually has a lower (35-ohm) or so impedence and
also usually requires a very good ground or radials.
You haven't told us much about where or how the antenna is positioned or
mounted, except to say that you are end feeding with 7 feet of coax.
You might have better luck running the wire straight to your tuner.
