[Antennas] RE: tuning antennas

Hi Ed and KA8VIT,
 I appreciate your responses.
 I believe that KA*VIT was wondering why an Extra would ask such a simple 
question. the reason is that although I used the standard measuring formula 
and measured carefully the antenna system was still not resonant on the 
desired frequencies. In order to obtain a proper match I was forced to trim 
about 5 feet off from my 60 foot wire. Now I have good SWR's which is not 
right. My signal strength has improved and things are looking good! But, the 
antenna is the wrong length. It is only about 55 feet. So, the only other 
explanation I can find is the length of the coax.
 By the way Ed, you were wondering about my using the name Frederick, in 
my E-Mail address, I use Frederick as a pen name on the internet. I am glad 
you enjoy the prayer book link. Feel free to visit it as often as you like!
 Any ideas on why this antenna is working right would be appreciated.
