[Antennas] 160mtrs on small lot

My solution, albeit imperfect, was to put up an inverted L next to my 48
foot tower set against the back of the house. I found some 20 foot 2x4s at
the lumber store and made two T-masts by screwing 2 of them together. I used
lag bolts to attach them to a 4x4 fence post on the back corner of the lot,
and another fence post about in the middle of the back fence. The L runs up
the tower to about 46 feet, slants down to the 20 foot pole on the back
corner of the lot, then bends back along the back fence to the other 20 foot
support. I have an 8 foot ground rod at the feed point, but no radials, yet.
Even if I eventually put down some radials, the house blocks 180 degrees to
the South. The antenna looks more like a skewed Z than an inverted L, but
I've worked 46 countries in two 160 seasons. While most are in the Caribbean
and Central America, I've worked Hawaii and a few in South America, Africa
and Europe so far. For me, the small town lot problem is one of receive
antennas, not transmit antennas. I use a mag loop and a flag, since there no
way to put down even a short beverage.

Subject: [Antennas] 160mtrs on small lot
This is going to be an almost impossible to fill request....
Just got a IC-735 that has 160.....now need an antenna.....
Live on a rather small city lot, limited to 55 feet from ground to antenna
tip, must be within
set backs.....makes usable area about 100 feet by 70 feet with other
antennas all ready
up.....
Also, soil is heavy clay....very hard to get good RF ground and very,
extremely limited on
area to run radials....
Any ideas on an antenna that will work OK on 160 and be almost ground
independent...not
looking for a fantastic DX antenna...just want to get on 160 and be able to
work a good
chunk of the US....
I know...I am asking for a Caddy on a Yugo budget........
