[Antennas] 160mtrs on small lot

1) Radials will be important for the best groundwave you can get (which is
good for daytime...nighttime will use skywave radiation for the most
part)....if you can put a chickenwire type ground screen down, that would
give you the best ground for 160 you can get in your size lot...
2) Try a helical loaded whip.....30 or 40ft tall (if you can find something
that tall you can wind a wire around)...and then add top loading for best
performance.....anything you do here will be LOW in radiation resistance and
eff...but if you can put something up that gets close to 1.4wave electrical
AND a good ground system, you should do ok...
Anything less, expect less...
A ground independent antenna would be 1/2wl....and that will be impossible
in your situation
Only other idea would be remote the radio and antenna..I am with my 160-6m
all mode remote base operating off my UHF rptr....a 260ft tower makes a nice
support for a 160m fullsize inverted V...

>> This is going to be an almost impossible to fill request....
>> Just got a IC-735 that has 160.....now need an antenna.....
>> Live on a rather small city lot, limited to 55 feet from
> ground to antenna tip, must be within set backs.....makes

> ready up.....
>> Also, soil is heavy clay....very hard to get good RF ground
> and very, extremely limited on area to run radials....
>> Any ideas on an antenna that will work OK on 160 and be
> almost ground independent...not looking for a fantastic DX

>> I know...I am asking for a Caddy on a Yugo budget........
