In general, the longer the co-ax, the greater the loss, especially if you are using a
tuner to get the SWR down for the rig (in which case the SRW on the line [co-ax] is still
there). The higher loss makes the SWR look lower than it really is, in fact if the loss is
real high any antenna will look real good, SWR-wise. The co-ax should never be any longer
than necessary to go from the antenna to the rig. The original design of the G5RV was for
use as a one-band antenna.
