[Antennas] AH-4 single wire to car's whip's base??

Hi Dave,
that is a problem. The lead from the output of the AH-4 to the base of the
radiating element should be as short as possible compared to the length of
the radiator - in any event, less than 1 ft. If the lead is too long, it
will form part of the radiating system and drastically reduce the efficiency
of the antenna.
You may be better off with a coax-fed, resonant mobile antenna if you cannot
mount the AH-4 directly at the base of the whip.

Subject: [Antennas] AH-4 single wire to car's whip's base??
I have an Icom AH-4 auto antenna tuner.
What is the best way to attach its single output wire to my mobile whip
when I have 6-7 feet from where I can mount the tuner to where the base of
the whip is mounted on my vehicle?
Thanks in advance for your wisdom.
David
