All...I have been playing with a G5RV the last couple of days. I can get it
up at about 60 feet. I was using a 80 meter and 40 meter dipole at about 90
deg to each other. I thought the G5 would make it possible to use a single
antenna on 80, 40, and 30 meters. I also tried the double size G5 and it was
worse. It could HEAR very well, but for some reason could not talk well. I am
finding that the single dipoles outperformed the G5 both in reception and Sig
strength reported from contacts. I am using 4inch spaced ledder line as the
matching stub. It resonates about 14.1 on the 20 meter band, so it appears to
be built correctly. Any one have any thoughts on this? I am thinking I will
take it down and return to dipoles. Al/W8FAX
