Dear Demetre:
All that is required to effectively tune an end fed wire is an L-match,
which is made from an inductor and a variable capacitor. Preferably,
the inductor is in series with the antenna feed and one side of the
capacitor is connected to either the input or output end of the inductor
and the other side is connected to ground.
A variable inductor is preferred to simplify tuning. Otherwise, you
have set up a switching arrangement to select taps on the coil that
correspond to the different bands. If my memory serves me, usually a
coil of 25-30 uH and a capacitor around 200 pf will do the trick for
10-80 meters.
