The T2FD antenna is fairly simple to 'homebrew'. Used one back in the
late 50's when CQ magazine first published an article about it.
The T2FD is simply a 'folded-dipole' with the side opposite the feedline
broken in the middle and a high wattage resistor placed there.
In the original article [I believe by Wil Scherer, W2AEF] the resistor
he used was a 50-watt, 600-ohm, non-inductive resistor.
The T2FD is made with wide spacing .. 6 inches of more .. using low-loss
spacers [ceramic is best, but some
plastics/teflon/delrin/nylon/UHMW/etc.. work ok]. The feedline is
ladder-line or even 300-ohm TV twinlead [for low powered applications]
down to a tuner for open-wire, balanced feedlines.
Good luck!
