Marv,
I just measured 3.6 ohms between the motor leads of a 36 VDC Saginaw
actuator. This is actually the armature winding, since the field is
created by permanent magnets. Be aware that measuring at the motor
leads will include the contact resistance of the brushes, which can vary
a lot depending upon the condition of the commutator and the brushes.
