Samus Aran is the main character from the Metroid series. She was raised by the Chozo, an ancient race of bird-like people, and goes through dangerous missions throughout the galaxies, such as saving planets and bounty-hunting. She appears in Kirby's Dream Land 3 as a cameo, and is a playable character in the Super Smash Bros. series alongside Kirby and Mario.

While Samus herself does not appear, Kirby can transform into a statue of her likeness using Stone. Her pose is based on the box artwork of her on Metroid II: Return of Samus . Additionally, in The Great Cave Offensive, the player can obtain the Screw Attack (called "Screw Ball" in Kirby Super Star) from the Sub-Tree Area, where it is worth 80,000G.

Samus in the Kirby's Dream Land 3 manga
Samus appears in the second stage of the Iceberg level; she wants Kirby to exterminate all of the Metroids in the stage in exchange for a Heart Star. The Metroids can only be defeated using the Ice ability, a reference to how they are destroyed in the Metroid games. She appears at the end of the level without her helmet, referencing how she can appear without it (and sometimes without the whole Power Suit) depending on the player's performance in Metroid series games.
Samus also appears in Kirby's Dream Land 3 4-koma Gag Battle, where Kirby notices that she and Ado are both human, but look rather different, noting Ado's doll-like fingers, stick legs, and having no nose. Ado explains that this difference is because she is a child and Samus is an adult; Ado then draws a hypothetical picture of "Adult Ado", which just looks like her normal appearance, but stretched vertically.[1]
In the Super Smash Bros. series [ ]
In the Super Smash Bros. series, Samus is a starting playable character in every game. She hails from the Metroid series as the first playable character of it. Her neutral special that Kirby can copy is the Charge Shot: a chargeable, storable laser ball that gets larger and stronger the longer it is charged.
Her design in the first two Super Smash Bros. games is based on her look in Super Metroid, Super Smash Bros. Brawl uses a blend of Metroid Prime and Metroid: Zero Mission's suits, and her design in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate reflects her design from Metroid: Other M.

Trivia[ ]
- During her appearance in Kirby's Dream Land 3, Samus appears approximately twice Kirby's height, the latter of which is stated to have a height of 20 cm or 8 inches. Samus is considered to have a height of 1.9 m or 6'3" with her power suit on, therefore Samus likely either is considerably shorter in this appearance or may have been scaled down so that she would not look out of place in Kirby's world.
