I'm pretty sure people that work for Google get 1TB of storage, so it wouldn't be entirely weird for Google to up their consumer offering. I'm currently nearing 500MB of storage, so it would be nice to see a greater ceiling.

Well actually anonymous, Google employees do get 1TB of storage on their GMail accounts.  I read an interview with an employee in the google desktop unit and he confirmed that.

If you work in one dept. in my company you can pass 10 gb of email archives easily.

I can confirm, I am seeing 15GB of capacity with google for your domain.

Im only seeing 2 gigs.

Update: Since Googlesystem and other Google related blogs picked up my blog entry today, Google rescinded my 15GB inbox storage allocation this evening. I've blogged about this and have included updated screen captures.

42 % might not seem much, but if I did what Google said, about never having to delete a message again, I'd be out of space a long time ago. I'm a member or several forums and I get close to 1000 forum reply messages each day. That would make over 800 MB each year if the average forum reply message is 2500 bytes. And that is NOT including my normal email messages from friends with video and image attachments.

people seriously, get a grip! if youre running out of space just forward mail to another gmail account. and to the guy with 1000 forum replys each day: why dont you delete old replys? its not like youre ever going to read them again.

I have 2 gmail accounts. I checked one and it was at about 2.7gbs. I then checked the other and saw 15 gb!!! I don't know if I can fill it up (especially considering that I don't use it) but it's good to know that it is there. I guess.

What happens if I near my storage limit?
We'll keep giving you more storage space as we're able, but if you do come close to the limit, the quota indicator displayed at the bottom of your account will change from green to red. If you go over your storage limit, Gmail will hold your messages for a few days while you clear out some space. If you don't delete anything within that allotted time, you won't be able to receive new messages, and messages sent to your account will then be returned to sender.

Many of you, I think, forgot this topic is in regards to Gmail for your Domain accounts and not the regular Gmail accounts. I also am seeing 15GB for my company when logged in as admin. When logged in as standard user, I see only 2GB. Therefore, I am assuming you get 15GB for your whole company when using Google Gmail for your Domain.

I'm also an admin, but i still have 2048 MB.. so, no!!.. if you are an admin you don't get 15 GB.. anyway, you know that somtimes there are new features that google give to some users(random). so maybe everyone will have 15GB .. soon!?

Aurelian, the key to what I said is that when logged in as admin I see 15GB FOR MY COMPANY not for myself as admin. I don't think Google is going to give each user 15GB but rather let the up to 25 email addresses you are allowed to SHARE the 15GB. Just my 0ドル.02 !

I have 15gb on all of my Gmail accounts. Plus they are all normal or standard accounts. I don't mind having all that extra space, but I'm not even using 1mb.

hmm, I have a second gmail account that i don't use, and i also noticed it now has 15360MB of space. It is a completely ordinary account. I think we have more space because we don't use it. Google is trying to lure us to start using it.

I just noticed this today, too. On an account that I very rarely use, I have 15gb space. Why can't I have that on my main address? Psh, no fair.

I've tried and it's amazing.
Somebody knows if gmail is going to be possible in a future that it's not necesary to create the accounts of the users manually and the users can create his own email account?

hey, I got this 15Giga space for an account which I seldom used. Last month I decided to start using it more frequently, and, to my surprise, it became 2829 MB again. Seriously, google is just trying to convince people to start using their gmail account, and as soon as they do it, the account becomes an ordinary account again.

I don't have 15gb and would like tog et it. Humm...Maybe Google don't like me

I have 15 gigs storage too. I think it has everybody who has registred using invite.

This is a great service with or without 15GB strage. Currently it is offerring 5GB / Email account and upto 500 email accouts.

I got 2Gb, but when I reached them, I automatically had growing space, like a non-domain gmail account.

The other accounts on my domain only have 2GB, but they all don't use that much space.

seems gmail will increase the storage when you emails go up.

They blatantly have a system in place where people who use their quota's more, get more of a quota. Chill out people, If you ever max out Google WILL automatically increase your storage, in fact they probably will way before you max out. I was getting on to using my whole 2GB space quota, and was getting ready to get another account before the worst happened, until I logged in the next time and noticed a nice fat juicy increase to 7GB. At the end of the day why should someone have a 15GB quota when they only use a few hundred MB Max? and other people who need that 15GB have it taken away from them? Google have a very fair system in place.

Ymail does even better. You don't have to even care about storage space.
