Reb Yerachmiel's Shiurim on Modim D'rabanan
Below are the latest shiurim from Reb Yerachmiel Goldman, given at the Baltimore Community Kollel. Sorry for not posting these shiurim recently but Pesach and other factors interupted our normal shiur publication process.
Reb Yerachmiel is excited to publicize a new mini-series of video and audio shiurim on the topic of Shemoneh Esrei's Modim DeRabbanan. Below are three shiurm which cover the topic fully; with faith, feeling and flourish. Click on the video links to view the video. Berchas "Modim": May Your Name Be Blessed and Exalted Forever - Audio/Vido Shiur

Berchas "Modim": Explaining the Enigma of the words “Hatov” through “Kivinu Lach”
Below is the link to the latest (2-21-10) Video/Audio shiur by Reb Yerachmiel on Berchas “Modim” in Shemoneh Esrei in which he explains the enigmatic phrase “Hatov Ki Lo Chalu Rachamecha, Ve’Hamerachem, Ki Lo Samu Chasadecha, MayOlam Kivinu Lach” which we daven at least three (3) time each and every day. The p’shat of the “Siach Yitzchok” on these words is a vital piece of knowledge for every davener to learn and internalize.

Modim: Thanking Hashem for the BIG THINGS - Video/Audio Shiur
Below is the link to the newest Video/Audio shiur by Reb Yerachmiel on Berchas “Modim” in Shemoneh Esrei.
In this shiur Reb Yerachmiel discusses the words “Al Nishmosaynu Hapekudos Lach” through “Va’Tzoharayim”, in which we thank Hashem for the big things He does for us, including life itself, our souls and the miracles (“Nissim”) and wonders (“Nif’laos”) that Hashem performs for us — yes, us — on a constant and consistent basis.
Special Note: Reb Yerachmiel would like to reiterate his heartfelt hakaras hatov to Reb Benyomin Belsky for helping to make this shiur possible despite the more than two feet of snow this past Sunday evening. Tizku l’mitzvos to Reb Belsky and to all those who attended the shiur live!

In this shiur Reb Yerachmiel discusses the words “L’Dor Vador” through “Ha’Misurim Be’Yadecha”, which provide a framework for reviewing a number of important yesodos of Yiddishkeit, but perhaps but none more important than the realization that: “Hashem- we love You more than life itself!”

In this shiur Reb Yerachmiel continues to explain the words of this bracha, with a special emphasis on the phrase “Tzur Chayeinu”, a description of Hashem as:
1) The Rock from which our bodies were hewn/Artisan of our bodies
2) The Rock from which our souls were hewn/Artisan of our souls
3) Our rock-solid foundation; the yesod of our lives
4) Our Castle; our Fortress; our Stronghold
5) The Rock in Whom we can seek, and find, safety and security

The Major Maalos of “Modim” - Video/Audio Shiur
Baruch Hashem, below are links to the first part of a series of shiurim on the topic of berchas “Modim” in Shemoneh Esrei being given by Reb Yerachmiel at the Baltimore Community Kollel.
Reb Yerachmiel open this shiur with a halachik pilpul designed to highlight of the unique importance of the brachos of “Avos” and “Modim” to Shemoneh Esrei, and concludes the shiur with a hashkafik analysis of what it means to say “Thank You” to Hashem and how that sincere expression of appreciation must also be accompanied by requests for more and more!
