Fatal Fury é uma série de jogos de luta criada no início dos anos 90 para concorrer lado a lado com Street Fighter, a franquia do gênero que mais fazia sucesso naquela época. Essa cópia ideia genial partiu da mente revolucionária e inovadora da SNK, que até então não havia lançado nenhum game bem sucedido neste estilo.
A história é centrada no personagem Terry Bogard, que busca vingança pela morte de seu pai adotivo ao lado do irmãozinho Andy Bogard e do completamente deslocado Joe Higashi, que foi colocado no jogo apenas para fazer uma média entre os japoneses, já que Fatal Fury foi originalmente produzido no Japão e pegaria mal que todos os protagonistas fossem loiros, belos, altos e nórdicos, algo que foge completamente da realidade nipônica.
Jogabilidade[editar ]
Como em todo jogo de luta que se preze, Fatal Fury foi desenvolvido para haver interação entre dois jogadores, cada um selecionando seu personagem favorito e lutando entre si. Claro que, como a maioria dos nerds é solitária e não tem amigos para interagir, existe também a possibilidade de jogar forever alone contra o próprio console automatizado, o que deixa a bagaça bem mais apelativa, já que a máquina conhece todos os golpes.
Gráficos[editar ]
Como era de praxe na época, os gráficos de Fatal Fury apresentam cores berrantes que chega a doer nos olhos, contribuindo para ferrar a visão dos pivetinhos de fliperama que hoje em dia são adultos com graves problemas oftalmológicos.
Por visar desde o início o mercado internacional de videogames, a SNK preferiu deixar os lutadores com um visual menos estilizado do que aquele que é visto em anime ou mangá, deixando os traços um pouco mais realistas e ocidentalizados. Bom, pelo menos essa foi a proposta inicial, que logo se perdeu com o lançamento do segundo jogo da série, no qual foi introduzido a grande musa onanística Mai Shiranui, com um corpo (leia-se peitos) e um figurino típico de uma personagem saída de algum hentai.

Como todos devem saber, a série Fatal Fury foi engolida com o passar dos anos e mesclada com outros jogos similares da SNK para criar uma nova franquia, The King of Fighters.
