Find Quick Reference

Editor Find Window

If you simply want to find the next or previous occurence of a specific string, "Find" makes this much simpler.

Like the more complex Search feature, Find also offers the ability to be able to replace your criteria with another string on a find-by-find basis, Find also allows From-the-Top, Forwards and Backwards searches too.

You may also limit the search to "Whole words", meaning that if the criteria is found inside another word, this will be ignored. For example, if you opt to find "mem", any matches to, say "memory", will be ignored. Only whole words that match will be detected.

Another feature of the Find system, is the ability to replace the criteria with another string, which cleverly also includes an empty string. This means you can effectively delete any occurence of the criteria from the current document. This same powerful feature is found in the Search function, but offers a much wider scope of replacing or deleting.
