Tcl/Tk 8.2

Tcl/Tk 8.2 is the latest version of Tcl/Tk. We've added a number of features this year that make Tcl the pre-eminent scripting language for enterprise applications. These are described on our What's New page. Download

New Tcl/Tk 8.2 Features

The new features in Tcl/Tk 8.2 include:

First implementation of Tcl Extension Architecture (TEA)
Trf patch for stacked I/O channels, which allows the SSL and other channel extensions to work;
DDE patch that provides the poke command
New procedures for manipulating strings that offer substantial performance improvements
Tcl test harness is now a loadable package

Technical Support

Scriptics will provide limited free support to the Tcl community for current Tcl/Tk releases. All Tcl users can submit bugs through our Bug Database. We maintain a database of Tcl/Tk bugs and make our best effort to fix bugs and incorporate contributed patches.

Scriptics also offers a range of commercial grade Tcl/Tk technical services, including telephone, Web and email support. Standard support is available in incident packs and annual service contracts. Premium support is only available with an annual service contract. Customized options are also available.
