To ensure a stable and cost-effective supply infrastructure for hydrogen, this project develop technologies to further advance, lower costs, and diversify facilities, equipment, systems, and others (storage tanks, filling hoses, metering systems, etc.) for producing, storing, transporting, and using hydrogen. Additionally, the project addresses research and development with other activities necessary for the development and streamlining of regulations based on the Implementation Plan for Regulatory Reform and other policies, as well as international standardization.
This involves technology development supporting the large-scale and diversified upgrading of equipment, such as hydrogen transport ships and domestic reception bases, related to hydrogen transport and various machinery for hydrogen power generation. It also supports research and development for establishing reliable evaluation methods for materials and the creation of technical standards and safety standards.
To reduce hydrogen supply costs in high-demand areas, this project focuses on developing various equipment needed for hydrogen supply chains at each location, including hydrogen production equipment, compressors, liquefiers, pipelines, lorries, trailers, etc. It also involves evaluating and establishing technical standards for the high-pressure treatment of hydrogen production equipment and safety assessments for hydrogen pipelines.
This includes the development of hydrogen storage facilities, compressors, pressure machines, pre-coolers, dispensers, etc., to contribute to the low-cost and advanced capabilities of hydrogen stations. It also continues international standard and criterion-related activities and aims for multi-purpose applications in aviation, ships, etc.
To achieve a hydrogen society, this component involves developing technologies for evaluating the quality and safety of materials and products necessary for a common foundation.
This involves conducting surveys and research on hydrogen production, transportation, storage, and utilization to contribute to the construction of a competitive hydrogen supply chain for a hydrogen society.
This aims to enhance public awareness and interest in hydrogen energy, promote a correct understanding of hydrogen safety, and expand researchers' involvement. Strategic information dissemination is conducted, and surveys are carried out to improve public acceptance. Additionally, international collaboration activities are implemented to build an international hydrogen supply chain.
