Japan promotes sports administration based on the Basic Act on Sport and the Sport Basic Plan. The Basic Act on Sport maps out the basic ideas related to sport while the Sport Basic Plan established pursuant to the Basic Act on Sport outlines the direction of Japan's sports policy.
The government shall strive to secure various funding resources to promote sports by expanding the budget and utilizing the Sport Promotion Lottery System.
