On Wednesday, November 1, Mr. Ishii Taku, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, held a meeting with an Australian parliamentary delegation.

Parliamentary Vice-Minister Ishii expressed his view that Australia is a special strategic partner that shares the vision of a free and open Indo-Pacific, and that he would like to strengthen cooperation between Japan and Australia in various fields such as resources and energy. He also expressed his anticipation toward the Australian pavilion for the EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, and his appreciation for the understanding of Japanese efforts regarding ALPS treated water.

The Australian parliamentary delegation stated that during the transitional stage of a phased energy transition, Australia and Japan are very important partners in strengthening the supply chain, and that they intend to continue to cooperate
