72 Seasons
The name for this season actually reads as "The Marigold Flowers" in Japanese, but it's not about the round, wheel-like marigolds that bloom in the spring. It refers to the winter flower popular for its aroma, the narcissus, or daffodil. The name comes from ancient China, where the yellow center of the narcissus was called a "golden cup" and the white petals surrounding it were called a "silver pedestal", and the flower was named "kinsen gindai (golden cup silver pedestal)".
