New Ulaanbaatar International Airport Construction Project
Visitors from overseas to Mongolia have been increasing rapidly as a background of growth in the service industries and expansion of investment to the ample mineral and livestock resources after the introduction of market economy in 1990. The existing Chinggis Khaan – International Airport is surrounded by mountains in the south and east side. The topographical and climate conditions restrict take-off and landing, thus causing frequent delay and cancel of flights. The improvement in safety and reliability is of paramount importance and urgently required. The construction of new international airport through ODA Loan will solve these issues and meet the increasing air traffic demand.
