The ITU Radiocommunication Bureau organizes the 1st Inter-regional Information Session on WRC-27 Preparation in the ITU Headquarters in Geneva, from 3 to 5 December 2025.

1st Inter-regional Information Session on WRC-27 Preparation

The 1st Inter-regional Information Session (IRIS) on WRC-27 Preparation is a face-to-face event organized in accordance with ​Resolution 72 (Rev.WRC-19) with the possibility of remote participation (see Programme).

Using information from the ITU-R responsible groups on the ongoing preparatory studies for WRC‐27 (see at itu.int/go/rcpm-wrc-27-studies), as well as on up-to-date information regarding the Bureau and regional preparations for CPM27-2, RA-27 and WRC-27, round tables provide​ all the stakeholders with the opportunity to exchange views and gain a deeper insight on the most challenging WRC‐27 agenda items and issues, as well as of the draft preliminary common views and/or positions of the concerned entities.

ITU’s Headquarters in Geneva​

International Telecommunication Union (ITU)

Place des Nations, 1211 Geneva 20 Switzerland
are conveni​ently located overlooking the Place des Nations in the Heart of Geneva’s United Nations district.

Access is easy by foot or private transport or using public transport as describe below.

Office numbers in the three buildings begin with M, T and V, respectively.

IT Facilities

Internet Access

Wired Internet access is available in the ITU meeting rooms H, K, L, M and Popov as well as at the Cybercafé.

Wireless Internet Access is available throughout the ITU facilities.

For events at CICG, please follow the wireless connectivity instructions provided on site.

Access to PC and Printers

PCs with multilingual keyboard support and network printers are available at the ITU Tower building, 2nd basement.

IT Support

Delegates can obtain support from the Service Desk located at the ground floor of the ITU​ Montbrillant building (office M03a).

Electricity

230V 50 Hz, power sockets with Swiss standard adapters (from USA to Swiss or Europe to Swiss, UK to Swiss) can be purchased at the ITU bookshop located at the ITU Montbrillant ​building entrance.​

Public transport

There are several bus/tram stops in the vicinity of the ITU (tram 15 and bus lines 5, 22, F, V, Z). Geneva ́s public transport system is operated by the Transports publics genevois (TPG)

Anyone arriving at Geneva Airport can obtain a free ticket (for immediate use) for 80 minutes travel on the Geneva transport system. The ticket machine is located just before the customs control area.

If you are staying at a hotel, the establishment will offer you the Geneva Transport Card that allows you to use public transport in Geneva free of charge during your stay.

Parking

Parking des Nations, adjacent to ITU.

Parking restrictions are in force for the streets adjacent to the ITU. Visitors are advised to respect these restrictions.

A limited number of parking cards are available for those participants attending ITU meetings held in the Geneva International Convention Center (CICG). Please contact the ITU-R Event Registration service​ to request a parking card

Medical Service

The services of a nurse are available to meeting participants. The medical service is on the ground floor of the ITU Varembé (V) building (Office V16 – extension: 5397).

In case of an emergency, participants may contact the Security Service, extension 119.

Bank

A bank is situated across the street from the ITU Tower entrance. Currency exchanges and other services are available from Monday to Friday, 0830 – 1630 hours.

Post Office

A post office is situated at Rue de Varembé 15, next to the CICG "​Centre International des Conférences de Genève" entrance.

Restaurants

A self-service cafeteria is situated between the ITU Varembé (V) and Montbrillant (M) buildings.

Meeting in Switzerland


Citizens of some countries are required to obtain a visa in order to enter Switzerland. Visa applications must be submitted to the Swiss foreign mission closest to their place of residence at least four (4) weeks prior to the planned travel date.

When needed, visa support must ​be requested during the on-line registration process. ​The following information mus​t be provided for each participant requiring visa support:

  • Name on passport
  • Date and place of birth
  • Passport number
  • Passport issuance and expiry dates
  • Passport country of issuance

There is no need to send further documentation to ITU as the visa support request procedure will follow automatically. For meetings held in Switzerland, please allow up to 21 days for a confirmation of support to be provided by ITU.

Visa support confirmations will be sent to the DFP who will be responsible for forwarding each confirmation to the concerned participant. Support confirmations will NOT be sent directly to meeting participants. ​
